InterHouse Athletics
Last Friday the school was involved in Inter house Athletics. I am in Te Kanawa house. I was involved in all the events except high jump and relays. Our first event was long jump then discus, and so on. I came 3rd in shot put, 4th in 200m sprints qualifiers, and I earned 3 points for discus. I can't remember the other results. My house won the 32-man relays thanks to Nepia dropping the baton 3 times and we won basically all the girls races. We haven't had the results of who won but I have a feeling either Hillary or my house, Te Kanawa.

The Bombing of Hiroshima
Destruction Day
On the 6th August 1945, at 8:15am an Atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, killing and injuring tens of thousands and destroying most of the city.
Almost everything within 1.6 kilometers of the explosion was completely destroyed except for about 50 earthquake resistant buildings. 80,000 people were killed as a result of the blast and 69,000 were injured by severe burns. The first effect of the explosion was blinding light then by radiant heat from the fireball. The fireball was 370 meters and had a temperature of 6,000 degrees.
The atomic bomb named ‘Little Boy’ was dropped by a US B-29 bomber plane. It dropped for 44.4 second before the triggers inside the bomb went of at 1800 feet above the ground for more destruction.
US president Harry Truman had a press conference after the bombing where he said, “I give my best wishes to all of Hiroshima but they didn't surrender when they were supposed to and that’s why my army took action before another war had started”. He meant his army having to invade mainland Japan.
Yesterday the US revealed the creators of the bomb. There were more than 100 people involved but the main man was A. Francis Birch.
The citizens of Hiroshima had no idea of what was about to hit them because they had never been bombed. It will take several years before the city will be rebuilt and for everyone to get back to how they were before.

My Letter to Rick for Camp
23/3/15
Room 13
Havelock North Intermediate
Dear Rick
I would like to thank you for taking time off your activities to take us on camp. If it wasn't for you we wouldn't have been able to do all the exciting stuff that we did at Camp Weka Point.
I can remember the time when we were playing arrowsoft and you thought that me and Max were in your team and we weren't. When you found out that you weren't you ran away and said to shoot Max in the face. I can also remember you telling me about the time you pretended to be a predator from the movie Alien vs Predator and you did the predator noise to Liam and Lochlin’s tent and they freaked out.
Also thank you for taking all the photos on the trip like rafting and lots of other activities
Yours Sincerely
Tristan

My "Where I'm from" Poem
I’m From Cold, sunny winter days
Basketball, cuddly Snake,
and Christmas Holidays at home
Basketball, cuddly Snake,
and Christmas Holidays at home
I’m from “Break a leg”
Roast Dinner with my family
I’m from taking my teddy bear everywhere I go
even when walking around Disneyland
I’m from Raining, Stormy Days
lounging around and chilling out
I’m from basketball with my mates
Playing FIFA on the PS4
I'm from having a laugh with my friends
and my KD 7 basketball shoes
I’m from Cheesy sausages and
Slimy Pizza
I'm from crying all night but
singing in Shower
I'm from mum nagging, the dog barking
and the cats meowing
I'm from snoring always
from mum telling me about her javelin career
I’m from under my bed hiding and
Charlie the dog on my bed
I’m from Trampoline and rabbits
playing rugby and cricket all the time with my mates
